Project: Conversion & New Build Care Home Development
Contract Duration: n/a
Contract Sum: n/a
Varco has been approached and instructed by a local established Care Home to design a new care home scheme as part of the expansion of their business. The existing site comprised a Grade II listed building and general landscaping. Having taken the Clients brief, the team at Varco proposed various design concepts in line with conservation principles, ensuring the new build development remained subservient to the existing vicarage.
The scheme consisted the conversion of the existing vicarage and a new build development accommodating 26no bedrooms.
The team at Varco prepared photo montages of the new development to illustrate its sensitive and respective setting to the listed building to assist in the planning process. This also enabled the Client to visualise the concept being proposed prior to construction works commencing.
After months of continuous hard work, pre-application discussions and multiple schemes, the team at Varco, along with DPP, finally secured planning permission for a 32no bed care home development and listed building consent for the alterations to the existing vicarage.
